Paris doesn’t pay the bills

American heiress Paris Hilton once bragged that she makes around $200m (£132.6m) a year through her various perfumes, personal appearances and pop records. But in a preliminary court hearing in Miami yesterday, the 28-year-old Simple Life star admitted she has no idea who pays her bills.
Paris is being sued by the Worldwide Entertainment Group, which claims she failed to do enough promotional work for their 2006 film turkey Pledge This. The trial is scheduled to begin on 8 June. When asked who paid her phone bills, Paris replied: "I don’t know. I’m assuming, like, whoever pays my bills. I never ask about that stuff."
The blonde socialite also admitted that she had never even seen a phone bill before until one of her lawyers showed her one. Paris denies the claims, saying: "Any chance I got, any red carpet, any press... I would just bring it up... I really, you know, did my best." The movie was universally panned by critics on release.
Paris’s manager has backed up her claims, adding that she hasn’t taken a day off “in years”. Her attorney also chipped in, calling her "the single busiest person on the planet". Too busy even to open an envelope, it seems.
